DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Monday | Msg. 17 – The Replacement of Leadership in Jerusalem Due to Pressure from the Jews

  1. In Galatians 6:12 we receive much light in understanding what happened at the beginning of the church’s history. The main reason for the believing Jews in Jerusalem to return to circumcision and practice the law was to escape persecution because of the cross of Christ. If Paul wanted to alleviate himself of persecution in his ministry, he simply had to return to preaching circumcision (Gal. 6:12-14; 5:11).

  1. The cross defines a radical change between two dispensations, from the dispensation of the law to the dispensation of faith. The dispensation of faith relies on the Holy Spirit, on the action of the Holy Spirit, and on the word of God, which is Christ. It changes everything completely (Gal 2:16; Rom 10:4; Gal 3:14).

  1. Abraham, who was desperately seeking God, found the God who created the heavens and the Earth, the Almighty God, and gave his life to the Lord. From that moment on, he no longer had to worry about struggling for his livelihood, because he knew that once the God of glory took care of him, everything he needed would be provided for him. We should have the same attitude (Acts 7:2; Heb. 11:8-10).

  1. “Thanks to the Lord, we have been united with Christ in His death and have risen with Him in His resurrection. Freed from the obsoleteness of the law, we do not need to struggle within ourselves to overcome sin; we need only live in the spirit, in newness of life. Now we need to faithfully share this truth with others, so that they too may be led by the Spirit”. (Romans 6:6-7; 7:6) (Daily Food, Book 1, Week 3, Monday, p. 43).
