1. For God to rule the Earth again, He must first begin to rule you and me. We, the church, must be like the fortress of Zion and fight for the interests of Christ’s kingdom. We must work diligently so that the Lord has an army made up of teenagers, captains, senior stewards, and David’s mighty men (Eph. 1:9-10, 22-23).
2. David’s mighty men were those who followed him closely, supporting his kingdom because of a vision. They willingly came to David and placed themselves at his command because they desired God’s rule over Israel. The same is true of us today; we are here because of a vision. We fight for God’s rule over the Earth! (Eph. 1:9-10).
3. Christ came to Earth to preach the gospel of the kingdom. He desires to establish the kingdom of God, and our hearts must burn for this. We are David’s mighty men in modern days, followers of the Lamb wherever He may go. The King can count on us! May we all be active members in the fight for His kingdom (Matt. 4:23; 6:10; 1 Chr. 11:10).
4. “Before creation, there was eternity. Time came into existence after God created the heavens and the Earth, and it has a purpose. It was not created so that we could live well here on Earth, enriching ourselves and achieving a good life. Time was created so that God’s will might be accomplished” (Psalm 90:2; Genesis 1:1) (Daily Food, Book 1, Week 3, Monday, p. 40).
