- In the Bible, the flesh means the human nature that sin has corrupted and enslaved. God created this nature, and sin corrupted it. We have become slaves to sin. The flesh has become a weapon of the enemy through man, who opposes the Spirit. Therefore, God wants to strip away our flesh. Let us walk in the Spirit (Deut. 10:16; Gal. 5:16, 24-25; Jer. 4:4).
- We are children of grace. The gospel brought the grace of God, and grace gave birth to us. It was through the promise. Today, we can say that we were born from Above. We are the descendants of Abraham, as numerous as the stars in the heaven. The truth of the gospel gave birth to us, so let us never turn away and receive another gospel (Gal 4:21-23, 27, 31).
- The Galatians were enchanted hi. It may seem, in human eyes, more advantageous to follow the law, to follow a religion, because that meant having more structure: the feasts, the rites, the traditions, the temple, the positions, the garments — whereas in the church there is none of this. In the church, there are only men who believed in Jesus. However, we follow grace, The Almighty God (Gal 3:1; Gen 17:1).
- “In Genesis we see that if Lot had recognized that God’s presence and blessing were with Abraham and had not distanced himself from his uncle because of a disagreement between shepherds, he would not have needed to be rescued from Sodom. Let us remain with those who have the presence of the Lord” (Gen. 13:1-13) (Daily Food, Book 7, Sem. 1, Saturday, p. 18).
