- If we have evil eyes, the word of God will be frowned upon by us, whereas if we have good eyes, we will gain blessing in the word of the Lord, and thus, our hearts will be healed. If we are immersed in the word in our daily lives, we will perceive the impure intentions of false teachers (Matt. 6:22 23; 13:14-16).
- The right way is the way of truth, because the word of truth is the gospel that the apostles preached. In it is the power of God. The word of man has no power, but the word of life dispenses eternal life to the church and promotes the fellowship of life for the growth of the members with a view to building up the body of Christ (2 Pet 2:15-16; Eph 1:13; Col 1:5; 2 Cor 6:7).
- Thank God that today, our workers who preach the gospel of the kingdom in the streets are like servants, evangelizing without payment or recognition (1 Cor 9:9-14); they earn their living from the provision that comes from preaching the gospel. They are not paid by anyone, because they are directly accountable to the One who called them: the Lord Jesus.
4. When all the members of the Body speak to each other the word announced by the apostles, they are filled with the Spirit: “And do not be drunk with wine, for that is dissipation. But be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph. 5:18-19) (Daily Food, Book 2, week 3, Saturday, p. 54).
