- The Day of the Lord is the day of God’s government to exercise His judgment. God will judge everyone. One day someone will arise who will make a covenant that will bring peace and security to the world, but after three and a half years, sudden destruction will come. We must prepare for the Day of the Lord’s coming, for He will come like a thief in the night (2 Pet. 3:10; 1 Thess. 5:2-3; Matt. 24:36-44).
- Man is like grass, and his glory is like the flower of the field. Even if someone has accomplished great things on earth, if it is not something that comes from the word of God, it will all be undone and will be of no value to God. We have no hope in the old heaven and earth. When we believe in Jesus, God has made us a new creation (1 Pet 1:24-25; 2 Cor 5:17).
- In the old concept, we thought that being ready at the Lord’s coming was being completely mature. But the Lord showed us that we can be faithful and wise servants who care for our fellow servants. If the Lord finds us doing this, we will be approved by Him (Matt. 24:45-46).
- “Let us hear the voice of the Lord through the prophetic word, a word that gives us direction and light in this dark world: ‘I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live’ (Deuteronomy 30:19)” (Daily Food, Book 3, Sem. 1, Saturday, p. 18).
