- God does not want a church divided between clergy and laity, but one Body in which all are members and serve. No matter how busy they are, everyone should be active in the church (Eph 4:11-12).
- As we look back through church history, we see the advancements toward the condition of the church in Philadelphia, as it broke free from hierarchy and made each member function in the Body of Christ. We are all here to function! (Rev. 3:7-8; Rom. 12:4-8).
- If God writes a letter to the church in a certain city, to whom does He deliver it? To the messengers of the church who convey the word of God to all the Christians in that city. This is the basis of Jerusalem, the basis of unity, which includes all of God’s children in each city. With the right basis, there is representation to receive God’s letter (Rev 1:10-11).
- “We are being built into a habitation of God through the Spirit. God is not limited by time and space and does not aim at an earthly building, but desires a spiritual house where His will is done” (Eph. 2:21-22) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 4, Saturday, p. 67).
