DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Saturday | Msg. 02 – In the Beginning, God Created the Heavens and the Earth

1. God works for those who wait on Him. Abraham was a model of someone who knew how to wait on God. Today, the Lord seeks hearts willing to wait on Him. May you and I not be people who seek God only for Him to do something for us, but may we surrender ourselves totally to the Lord (Isaiah 64:4; Romans 4:18).

2. God created all things — the heavens, the Earth, man, and the human spirit —for the purpose of having a place of rest. If you receive the Word with faith, properly, you will enter into God’s rest, and the Spirit will lead you. God is preparing overcomers to share in this rest (Gen. 2 :1-3; Heb. 4:1-3).

3. God desires a place of rest, but not in a physical building. David desired to build a house for God, but the Lord questioned him, for He does not need a temple made by human hands. The place where the Lord finds rest is the heart of a humble man, afflicted, contrite in spirit, who loves His word and trembles before it (2 Sam. 7:1-6; Isa. 66:1-2).

4. “At Pentecost the church was brought forth, and the Holy Spirit was poured out… The Holy Spirit came upon us to bless us. Now the mission of the church is to take the gospel to bless all the families of the earth. We have the responsibility to take the promised Spirit to people” (Acts 1:8; Gal. 3:14) (Daily Food, book 2, week 4, Saturday, p. 70).
