1. We are in a daily battle, and we need to recognize who our true adversary is. If we do not know who we are fighting against, we will lose the battle. Our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against Satan’s army (Eph. 6:11–12).
2. Lucifer fell because his heart was lifted up because of his beauty, and he was corrupted because of his wisdom. The apostle Paul warns us, “Knowledge puffs up.” Pride and arrogance can destroy us. Have you ever felt undervalued in church? Dissatisfied because your worth is not recognized? Beware! It was the same with Satan—he thought God needed his opinion and help (Ezek. 28:15–17; 1 Cor. 8:1).
3. Let us not have a hardened heart like Satan’s. When we are exposed to the light of the Lord, let us have a repentant heart. Have we made mistakes? Yes. But we have the light of God, revealed in His word, to enlighten us. Let us repent, and then there will be an opportunity for God to work in us (Acts 3:19; John 5:27).
4. “There is no way for man to control the work of the Lord. It is the same throughout the earth, because it is by the voice of the Shepherd that we are one flock! This word brings us all together in oneness, in unity, and it is He who governs and carries out His work” (John 10:4-9) (Daily Food, book 3, week 1, Saturday, p. 18).
