- The cross of Christ is a watershed moment in the accomplishment of God’s work in the universe! It ends the dispensation of the Law and inaugurates the dispensation of faith, the time when the Spirit begins to work through grace (Gal. 5:11; 6:12-14).
- Not justified by the flesh or by the works of the Law, but by the grace of God, freely given through faith! The cross of Christ is everything to us. It is from the cross that the work begins which will culminate in the return of Christ and the fulfillment of God’s will (Eph 2:4-10).
- If we return to the basic principles of the Law, we nullify the work of the cross of Christ. And who would nullify what Christ accomplished through the cross? Certainly, the enemy of God. He uses religion itself to nullify the cross. The Law was not given to establish a religion, but to preserve God’s people in the Old Testament until faith came (Gal. 3:1-14).
- “The gospel that Paul preached was not learned from man, but through a revelation by Jesus Christ. Since Paul was one sent by Jesus, he had to speak the words of Jesus, and so the Lord Himself had to reveal what Paul should say. This is very important: true apostles, those sent by God, speak only what the Lord reveals to them. Unless God reveals it, man cannot speak on his own” (Gal. 1:1) (Daily Food, Book 1, Week 2, Saturday, p. 39).
