- Lot should never have separated himself from Abraham, with whom God’s blessing was. We must follow closely where God’s presence and His blessing are and be close to the word of the people who love the Lord (Gen. 13:9-11; 2 Tim. 2:22).
- Let us not seek the easy life, as Lot did when he chose the plain of the Jordan, moving away from Abraham. It is in the church life where godly people are and where we preserve our family. Whoever decides to move away from this healthy life harms his own family, his marriage and his children. Let us not make the wrong decision! (Gen 13:10-13; 2 Pet 2:8-9; 2 Tim 2:22; Heb 10:25).
- As we closely follow the prophetic word, more of God’s truth is deposited within us. Through immersion in the word, we allow it to be instilled and deposited in our hearts and for this divine reality to become our reality, so that we will be approved when the Lord returns (2 Pet. 1:19; Col. 3:16; Deut. 6:6-8).
- If we are resilient, the enemy will not succeed in stopping the advance of the Lord’s kingdom. We will not be discouraged by attacks and slander, but we will remain in the Word of life, in the fellowship of life (1 John 2:24). (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 2, Sunday, p. 38).
