- There are many opponents who aim to stop God’s work. But we must press on: with one hand to continue the work, and with the other to hold the weapon, the word of God, which we have received daily through immersion, transcription, war cries, “Come and see,” and the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom (Nehemiah 4:1-3).
- Let us continue working on the walls, let us be those who are afflicted and crushed in spirit, and let us have reverent love for the word of the Lord. For the one who is doing this work is the Lord (Isaiah 66:2).
- We need to build up the walls, but we also need to bring life back to normal within Jerusalem. There is still much that God needs to purify, so let us continue to work, not to be magnified, but so that God’s will may be done and His kingdom established on earth (Ps 51:18; Neh 4:6, 7:1).
- “Let the word circulate among us. In this way, it will fill our souls with life and satisfaction. Let us go out with our brothers and sisters to preach the gospel and to do the ‘Come and see!’ “Remember the Lord’s promise: ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ ” (Heb. 13:5b) (Daily Food, Book 5, Week 1, Sunday, p. 23).
