DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Sunday | Msg. 09 – The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil

1. The book of Job presents us with a classic example of someone blameless and upright, who feared God and shunned evil (Job 1:1). He was a prime example of a good man. However, Satan knew that all the good Job did came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

2. Job 29 reveals how a man of integrity and righteousness, who fears God and shuns evil, may not realize that he lives on the “good” side of the tree of knowledge. Thus, he builds a godly life for himself, earning the respect and admiration of everyone around him. For his own good, God destroyed the “nest” he wanted to immortalize, because He wanted to lead him to the tree of life (Job 29).

3. After God appeared to him and showed him the wonders of creation, Job understood God’s plan: to save our souls, which had been contaminated by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And he said to the Lord, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted. (…) I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen You. Therefore, I abhor myself in dust and ashes” (Job 42:1-6). The Lord restored everything he had and even twice as much (vv. 10-17).

4. “We must take advantage of every opportunity to do good (Gal. 6:9-10), bringing the blessing of Abraham to all the families of the Earth. […] Let us preach the gospel and bless people with the promised Spirit—whether on the streets or by carrying out the “Family Mission” through telephone calls, promoting the multiplication and consolidation of the church. This is sowing to the Spirit” (Daily Food, book 4, week 3, Sunday, p. 51).
