1. In Revelation 12, a great sign appears: the woman—the church— in labor pains about to give birth. The child symbolizes the stronger part of the church — the overcomers, Zion, those who fight for the kingdom. A great red dragon also appears, a figure of the devil, the ancient serpent. This sign summarizes the outcome of the struggle between kingdoms that began in Genesis 3 (Revelation 12:1 3; Genesis 3:14-15).
2. In the Bible, only two people escaped death. 1) Enoch, of the seventh generation from Adam, who walked with God so that the Lord took him to Himself. 2) Elijah, who was taken up in a chariot of fire. Likewise, God will give those who overcome, the kingdom, and the opportunity to avoid death. In the struggle for the kingdom, they walk in the presence of God until they are caught up, when the male child is formed through them (Gen. 5:24; 2 Kgs. 2:1, 11; Rev. 12:5).
3. Today, God needs us to be part of this group that loves Him, fights for His kingdom, and walks in His presence. As we walk with God, we draw closer to heaven. Therefore, let us not seek other things. Let us walk with the Lord, know His heart, and fight for His will and His kingdom. Then, when the male child is born, we will be part of it (Revelation 12:5, 10-11).
4. “Today it is essential to understand the value of remaining in the teaching of the apostles and in the fellowship of the prophetic word, which brings direction, government and freedom, so that the Holy Spirit works with power in the midst of the church, carrying out the true work of God” (Acts 2:42; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:19) (Daily Food, book 5, week 4, Sunday, page 72).
