DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Sunday | Msg. 37 – Jacob: The Need for Transformation

1. Let us be willing to serve the Lord, taking upon ourselves the burden of Christ, for His burden is light. If we insist on carrying our own yoke, we will end up crumbling; however, if we surrender ourselves to God, we will see that He is the One who carries the burden for us. Do not run away from responsibility: God is counting on you. You are a living stone for the building up of the church (Mt 11:30; 1 Pet 2:4-5).

2. God desires to introduce us into the glory that is Himself. His goal is to obtain a dwelling place in the Spirit and to make us a place of rest. This place also becomes a dwelling for us. It is the place of rest for God and for men (Rev 21:3, Jerusalem Bible Version).

3. Jacob made a vow to the Lord, proposing to give tithes in exchange for care and provision. Before him, Abraham had already tithed; later, the people of Israel followed this practice. In the New Testament, we see the Pharisee boasting about this, but Jesus raised the standard: our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees. Let us follow the example of the early church: let us not be stingy, but generous investors in the Kingdom (Genesis 28:20-22; Luke 18:12; Matthew 5:20; Acts 4:34-35).

4. “Like Paul, we will spend our lives preaching the gospel of the kingdom. That is why the Lord is raising up a group of warriors who fight for the kingdom. We will establish the kingdom of God throughout the Earth, shame Satan, and bring blessing to the people!” (Acts 20:24) (Daily Food, book 6, week 1, Sunday, p. 20)
