- God is concerned — and expresses His concern through the apostle Peter– that all the brothers and sisters have a clear mind, a mind that is free from vain thoughts but that has been tried by the word of the Lord and listens only to the words that come from the prophets and the apostles (2 Pet 3:1-2).
- The word of the Lord to us is a commandment, an order. God does not come to us to speak with us to give us mere suggestions. When He speaks, it is a word of command; it is an order for our life. Today, these words are transmitted by the apostles (2 Pet 3:2).
- Some become false teachers, begin to speak against the apostles, mock and ridicule the prophetic word, not caring aboutwhether they are causing someone else to stray from the way of the Lord or whether they are causing problems within families. They have become selfish and are only concerned for their own goals. Flee from such ones. Let us continue to serve the Lord by following the prophetic word (2 Pet 2:1; 3:2; 2 Tim3:1-5).
- “As we immerse ourselves in the word and remain in the fellowship of life, we can see the signs of Christ’s glory and not merely our natural man. Let the glory that is within us shine forth!” (2 Cor 3:18) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 4, pg. 67).
