- At the time of John, there were seven churches in Asia Minor, and the letters to these churches describe the situation of each one. However, the book of Revelation is prophetic and therefore has prophetic content. Thus, the seven letters also describe the history of the church, from its birth to the end of this age. We are part of this history! (Revelation 1:1-3, 4-8, 11, 19-20).
- We cannot trust in our own ability, only fully in the power of the Spirit, otherwise we will become like the church in Laodicea, which considered itself rich and prosperous and had need of nothing. O Lord Jesus! (Rev 3:14-22).
- The church in Philadelphia is the church of brotherly love, which meets what God wants and needs to accomplish His will. The process of restoration of this church began in the first half of the 19th century and is still being consolidated, and should be responsible for ending this age and bringing the Lord back to take possession of the earth. Hallelujah! (Rev 3:7-13; Matt 24:14).
