1. Before the creation of man, the Earth was formless and empty, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. This is due to a rebellion that occurred at the beginning of the first creation, which resulted in God’s judgment on the Earth. God would never have created the earth without form and void (Gen. 1:2).
2. The first rebellion was caused by Lucifer, who became an adversary of God because of the ambition in his heart. He desired to achieve a high position, to gain primacy, and to be first after God. Every rebellion has Satan’s fingerprints (Ezekiel 28:16–19).
3. Many do not accept the word of God because they seek primacy and position. Have you been competing for positions or offices in the church? Do you think that your years of church life make you better than other brothers and sisters? Be careful! He who seeks to be first bears the mark of Satan’s rebellion (3 John 1:9–10).
4. “[…] No one is justified by the law, for no one can fully keep the things written in it (Gal 3:10). […] But the righteousness of faith is freely given to the one who believes” (Rom 4:3-5) (Daily Food, book 3, week 1, Thursday, p. 13).
