1. Our lives are focused on the Lord’s second coming. We are looking toward His second coming. Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not of those who sleep. You are not of the night or of darkness; you are children of light, children of the day. We cannot sleep any longer. It is time for you to wake up from your sleep (1 Thess. 5:4-5; Rom. 13:11).
2. Are you being tested? The more God measures you, the more He tests you; it’s more pressure. Have you been complaining about so much pressure? Pressure to serve the Lord, pressure from all sides. This pressure is actually God using Christ to measure you. When He measures a thousand cubits, He approves, and the water level rises. (Ezekiel 47:1-4).
3. Increasingly, God wants to limit the freedom of our natural man to lead us into the flowing river, allowing the Holy Spirit freedom to use you. God wants to carry you fully along the current of this river of water of life. He desires that you be completely led to fulfill God’s will (Ezek. 47:5; John 3:8).
4. “The cross of Christ is a watershed moment; it ends the dispensation of the law and begins the dispensation of faith. The dispensation of faith is the dispensation of the Spirit, in which the Spirit begins to work, and the dispensation of grace, because we are not justified by the flesh nor by the works of the law, but by the grace of God freely given through faith” (Rom. 3:24; Gal. 3:11) (Daily Food, book 4, week 4, Thursday, p. 62).
