- We are a battleground between the spirit and the flesh. The flesh wants us to live according to its passions and desires. But by walking in the spirit, we bring into reality all that Christ has accomplished on the cross (Gal. 5:17-18).
- The works of the flesh cause damage to our bodies, making us useless to God. Our body belongs to God, and we must keep it for God, for it is His temple (1 Cor 6:18-20).
- We need to be careful with the works of the flesh regarding spiritual things, because they are sins against God, originating from man’s selfishness, greed, and self-interest. These works aim to separate man from simplicity toward God (2 Cor 11:1-3; Gal 5:20).
- “The word of the Lord is not mere biblical knowledge or advice for a better Christian life, but rather an order, a command from the Head to the Body, so that His word may be fulfilled” (2 Pet. 1:9). (Daily Food, Book 7, Week 4, Thursday, p. 61).
