- God does not want to use our natural skills. He did not want to use Moses when he was forty, but called him when he was eighty, because by that time Moses no longer trusted in his own skills. Let us not trust in the flesh, in knowledge, or in natural talents; let us trust only in the word and in the Spirit (Ex 4:10,13; 2 Cor 1:9).
- The church has been going out into the streets to preach the gospel because the Spirit has this work to do. The Lord wants to use us for this. We can all have these experiences. If there are brothers and sisters practicing it, we can go with them; or we can promote an evangelistic action ourselves. How about experiencing it yourself? (Acts 4:4).
- The Lord has given us several tools to participate in preaching the gospel, such as: Come and See, family mission, colportage, and care network. Let us not fail to participate — let us have experiences! We may think that we already have many things to take care of, but when we take the Lord’s yoke, we find rest (Matt. 11:29-30).
- After we believed in Jesus, by faith our old man died with Christ. And now we belong to the Lord! It is Christ’s death that frees us to serve God in newness of life. But if we grow old spiritually, we will not be walking in newness of spirit (Rom. 6:6, 4; 7:6) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 1, Thursday, p. 13).
