DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Thursday | Msg. 25 – God’s covenant with Abraham Concerning the Seed and the Land

1. We need security. The sea represents the world, and we are in it like a boat on the water. Our soul is fragile and easily falls into anguish, anxiety, and stress. Are we condemned to instability? No! When we live by God’s word, we cast the anchor of our soul in the Holy of Holies. His Word establishes and strengthens us (Hebrews 6:18-19).

2. Having defeated four kings with only 318 men, Abraham likely feared they would attack him again. But God told him, “Do not be afraid!” Today, we also enter enemy territory to save lives, planting the seed of the kingdom in hearts. We face many battles and giants, but the Lord is our shield! We need not be afraid (Genesis 15:1).

3. God’s work progressed with Abraham as God spoke to him. Abraham believed the Lord’s words, and things happened. The same is true for us today: we do not accomplish the work; it is accomplished by God’s word. There is no merit in us; our part is to listen attentively and believe (Romans 10:17).

4. “It is not worth wasting your time on Earthly things. Everything in this world will be destroyed. The heavens will be rolled up like a scroll and set on fire. Do you still want to waste time on fleeting things? Strive for new heavens and a new Earth, in which righteousness dwells” (2 Peter 3:10-13) (Daily Food, book 2, week 3, Thursday, p. 47).
