DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Thursday | Msg. 26 – The Birth of Ishmael and the Appearing of God Almighty

1. There was no sign that Abraham would have children, for his wife was barren. Sarai then made a proposal, to which Abraham agreed. However, every idea that comes from the natural man generally brings problems and pain. But when something comes from the word of God, everything goes well and flows peacefully. We should never act hastily, but wait for the Lord’s direction. Have we acted according to our own will or waited for the Lord’s direction? (Genesis 16:1-5).

2. God is a God of mercy. Even when we make choices on our own and fail, He comes to us with love. He is the God who sees us—who looks upon the humble and the despised. You may think that God is not attentive to your affliction or situation, but He comes to meet you (Genesis 16:7-13).

3. When we do not follow the Lord’s direction, His speaking may cease. This silence speaks for itself, and we know that we have done something that did not please Him. The only way to please God is to walk in His presence. We need to learn to walk with God, as Enoch did, who walked so intimately with the Lord that He took him to Himself (Genesis 5:24; 16:16; 17:1).

4. “God does not send rain if there is no man to work. […] God must send showers of blessings upon the church. God has also placed eternity in the heart of man. The Spirit of God, which entered man, came from where? It came from the eternal God, who inhabits eternity” (Isaiah 57:15) (Daily Food, book 2, week 4, Thursday, p. 63).
