1. God gives us a command: to listen diligently His words and keep His covenant. This covenant is for those who walk in His presence. Do we desire this covenant? From God’s side, there is no problem at all—He is faithful. From our side, we need to walk in His presence, diligently listening to His word and carrying it out (Exodus 19:5-6).
2. Abraham became the father of multitudes. Today the same thing happens: this promise has also been given to us. If we walk in the presence of God and do not seek our own exaltation, we will generate multitudes of spiritual children. Multiplication in the church will happen through us (Genesis 17:5-6; 1:18).
3. How do we rid ourselves of the flesh? By identifying with the death of Christ. Also, we will not live anymore according to the powers of the flesh by identifying with His resurrection. We live in Christ. in the power of the Spirit. We have faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead (Colossians 2:10-11).
4. “When we face difficult situations, let us not think that God is punishing us. He actually allows these circumstances to test our hearts and reveal what is in them. […] We need pressure so that we do not remain in a comfort zone” (Deuteronomy 8:2-3) (Daily Bread, book 3, week 1, Thursday, p. 13).
