DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Thursday | Msg. 30 – The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the Story of Lot

1. Let us take care of our hearts; they need to be pure. We cannot allow personal interests or ambitions to contaminate them. We were created by God and are here to fulfill His will. We do not live to seek fame or position; we are servants of the Lord. Let us be faithful in what He has entrusted to us. With a right heart, we will understand what He tells us (Acts 20:24).

2. In our daily lives, if we don’t take moments to seriously talk to people about the things of God, to impart life to them, situations may arise where we want to do so, but they won’t believe us. Therefore, we need to bring life to people. There are serious things we need to convey: the things of God. Never let us miss the opportunity to preach the gospel (Genesis 19:14).

3. Lot and his family, even though instructed to leave the city about to be destroyed, still hesitated to act and needed to be “pressed” by the angels to flee. They were still attached to the city. In the end, the angels snatched them away like a brand plucked from the fire. Let us have compassion on those who are in doubt (2 Timothy 4:2; Genesis 19:15-16; Zechariah 3:2).

4. “What happens when we lose simplicity and purity is that we cease to be the dwelling place of God […] God rests in the hearts of those who remain simple. Let us not be like the disciples who argued over who would be the greatest or the first among them” (2 Corinthians 11:3; Isaiah 66:2; Matthew 18:1, 3) (Daily Food, book 3, week 4, Thursday, p. 66).
