- In Acts 7:1-53, we saw Stephen’s trial and defense before the Sanhedrin. He spoke from the time of the formation of the nation of Israel to the time when Jesus walked on the earth. Stephen made it clear that this is Satan’s strategy to hinder God’s work: to keep you from properly listening to the word of the prophets.
- In Acts 7:39-40, Stephen clarifies that the Jewish fathers did not respect or obey the word of Moses. This was the history of defeat for the Jews, a people who were created to win, but who were struck down because they did not heed the words of God spoken by Moses. Unfortunately, the people of Israel have a history of persecuting all the prophets raised up by God (Acts 7:51-52).
- In the end times, a people has emerged who love His word. Teenagers are part of this people, because they have loved the word intensely, valuing it and transcribing it as they hear it. They immerse themselves in the word, sleeping and waking up with God to inculcate it everywhere they go. This has brought us closer to the condition of the church in Philadelphia (Ps 110:1-3; Rev 3:7-11).
- Today we have a new perspective on life, a bright future. We have left this dark world because we have been given a living hope, a new beginning through the resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Pet. 1:3) (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 2, Tuesday, p. 25).
