- We are all “in the field,” and in this way we will give the Lord a church life lived seven days a week. God wants the members of the Body of Christ to function. There is no clergy or laity among us; we are all members of the Body of Christ (Acts 2:46; Rom. 12:4-5).
- The church in Jerusalem had a wonderful beginning. As they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, things flourished, signs and wonders were performed, and everyone was glad. As the word grew, the number of those saved grew, and even in the midst of persecution, life prevailed (Acts 2:42-47).
- Paul says that he did not learn the gospel he preached from any man, but it was according to the revelation of Jesus Christ. In the New Testament, the one who speaks is Jesus Christ, so the apostles cannot teach their own words, but rather the commandment of the Lord and Savior (Gal 1:11-12; Heb 1:1-2; 2 Pet 3:2).
4. “Jesus Christ came to reign for God, and the day will come when God establishes His righteousness and enthrone His Son as King over the nations. Jesus, being God, came as a man, humbled Himself, and emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant. After His death, God raised Him up and made Him King, giving Him the nations as His inheritance” (Phil. 2:5-8; Psa. 2:8) (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 1, Tuesday, p. 8).
