- Our primary duty is to diligently listen to the word of the Lord, to hear His voice. These are not just commandments and rules, but God guides His people through His voice, the spoken word. We have the Bible, the written word of God, and each week we have a word that is His voice. This word of command has brought us healing. (Ex 19:5).
- In addition to hearing, we need to keep the word and put it into practice. Today we practice immersion in the word, which is keeping it through engraving. The word is not only to be heard, to pass from one ear to the other, but to be kept in our hearts. The correct way to keep the Lord’s covenant is to engrave the word in our hearts (Deuteronomy 6:6-9).
- God warned His people about the choice they would make. If the people chose blessing by obeying God’s word, everything would prosper. The prosperity of the church does not depend on human effort, but on hearing, keeping, and doing the word of the Lord. This brings us blessing (Lev. 26:3-5).
- “We are God’s people, and we are here to do His will. We have a living hope, for we have been raised with Christ and taken to the heavenly places (Eph. 2:6). Our inheritance is incorruptible and is reserved in heaven for us (1 Pet. 1:4)” (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 3, Tuesday, p. 41).
