1. God’s will is to have Christ head over all things until the end of time. And Christ will accomplish this through the church. First, the church must submit to Christ, and the only way for this to happen is for us to be filled with Christ, the truth itself. Then everything in us will be obedience to Christ (Eph. 1: 9 10, 22-23).
2. There is only one way to fully submit ourselves to Christ—not through teachings, nor through listening to many sermons or doctrines about submission, but by filling ourselves with Christ. And this happens through the word. Before, we lived an empty life and alienated from God, but the Lord gave us life and, today, is sanctifying us through the word (Eph. 2: 1-2; 5: 25b – 27).
3. God has an extremely effective weapon: His word, which is like a missile, capable of striking and destroying strongholds that oppose the government of Christ. It has the power to nullify gossip, pride, arrogance and ego, which separate us from God. When our submission is complete, God will use the church to punish and sweep away all disobedience from the universe (2 Cor 10: 4-6).
4. “Abraham did not need to strive to be perfect. He simply had to walk in the presence of the Lord. Today we understand that walking in the presence of God is walking by His word. We will never achieve perfection by our own ability, but if we hear the word and obey it, we will be perfect” (Gen. 17:1) (Daily Food, book 2, week 4, Tuesday, pp. 60-61).
