1. If there is no man to till the ground, God will not send rain. But if there is man’s cooperation, He pours out His blessing. God needs the church as His suitable helper so that Christ can accomplish His work on Earth together with man (Gen. 2:5, 18).
2. Today, people feel a great thirst for what is legitimate: family, profession, material possessions, and so many other things. Yet none of these can quench this inner thirst. But we have within us a spring connected to the river of water of life, which supplies all human needs. What water have you been drinking? (John 7:37).
3. Have you been a channel through which the water of life flows to others? We cannot shirk this responsibility. Each of us is responsible for quenching the thirst of many. This water has been given to us freely, and God is counting on us to spread the water of life throughout the Earth (Gen. 2:10; Isa. 55:1-3).
4. “But how does the Holy Spirit work now? In our day, He works in the church through the word […] the way is to persevere daily, not experiencing peaks […], but persevering in the fellowship of the word with the apostles must be something constant” (Acts 2:42) (Daily Food, book 5, week 1, Tuesday, page 9).
