- We cannot be governed by religious laws. We have been freed by Christ to live freely in the Spirit! Let us give the Lord freedom to guide us through His word. The Spirit is like the wind that blows; you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. This is how it is for everyone who is born of the Spirit! We need to give God freedom to work among us, without any resistance (John 3:8).
- We must worship God in spirit and in truth, not in a conventional way, according to religion or tradition. Everything we do for God, in our lives and in our service, must be done in a genuine way (John 4:23).
- We need to purify our hearts. We need to sing, praise, and serve with genuineness, that is, the source must be the Spirit. We want to love God and serve Him genuinely! In other words, let us never fall into conventional ways, whether it be religious rules, habits, or tradition, because man easily falls into these rudiments. Let us always serve in newness of spirit so that the Spirit of God has freedom to edify us (Romans 7:6).
- “In Jerusalem, the first saved brothers and sisters lived in the right sphere, the heavenly one. They had the normal church life, continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and in fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42) (Daily Food, Book 7, Week 2, Tuesday, p. 24).
