1. We need to be desperate to seek the Spirit’s guidance, God’s guidance. This should be our experience at all times. When our service and our life are entering a comfort zone, a zone of ease, where we already know how to take the next step, then we need to turn to the Lord. True spiritual living is not knowing what the next step is but depending totally on the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our lives (John 3:8).
2. Today we are no longer in the kingdom of this world, but in the kingdom of God, because Jesus died and rose again, to give us another life and introduce us into the kingdom of heaven. We only enter the kingdom of heaven through the new birth! When we are born again, we need to continue to remain in the kingdom of heaven, in the presence of God! (John 3:3-7).
3. We are no longer in the age of the dispensation of the law, but in the dispensation of faith, the Spirit, and grace—the church age. Now the church follows the Spirit through the Word, which gives direction and governs the church (Rom. 8:1-4; Gal. 3:13-14; 4:1-7). 4. “Our existence is due to the Spirit of God, to the divine breath that was breathed into us. This breath of God, which gives us wisdom, is also what gives us human life. We must give thanks to God for the life He has given us” (Job 33:4) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 2, Tuesday, p. 25).
