- The secret is not in accumulating theoretical knowledge, but in inculcating the word of the Lord in our hearts. The meaning of “inculcate” is to engrave, this is the true value of the word, for it is the vehicle that brings us faith, God Himself with all His elements into our subjective faith and makes them ours (Dt 6:6-7; Rm 10:17).
- When we allow the word of God to be received into our hearts, and we work diligently in this “land”, our entrance into the kingdom of the Lord is richly supplied. In 2 Peter 1:12-13, however, the apostle warns of the need to let present truth do a real work in us (2 Peter 1:11).
- Our life only makes sense when we allow the word of God to operate in us, bringing objective faith into our subjective faith. This, which Peter called “the present truth,” is not just any word, but the one that comes directly from the Lord (2 Peter 1:12).
- “We need the word to bring us life. Life, in turn, brings us truth, and truth produces love in us. In this process, we truly come to love one another. That is why it is so important to continue in the fellowship of life, receiving the word of life!” (1 John 3:11, 15-16) (Daily Food, Book 3, Week 4, Wednesday, p. 63).
