- God does not dwell in the hearts of those who consider themselves righteous and despise others. Let us always keep our spirit humble and dependent on the Lord. Those who realize that they have nothing cling to and love the word with reverence. God wants to dwell in their hearts (Luke 18:9-14).
- Peter encourages us by showing us that sufferings are necessary to test our faith, just as gold is refined by fire, in order to achieve the salvation of our soul. In the natural man, we have no capacity to love and serve, and we can even deny Jesus. But when we receive the life of God, we gain new hope! (1 Peter 1:6-7).
- When we go through stressful situations, God can remove more impurities from us and the value of our faith increases. We need to arm ourselves with the same mindset as Christ when He suffered in the flesh. That is why we need to immerse ourselves in the Word: in this way we place our minds in the Spirit, who begins to govern us (Romans 8:5-6).
- “Nehemiah persevered and did not stop the work. Therefore, attacks against the man chosen by God to transmit His word are not new. The devil uses this method to nullify God’s speaking (Nehemiah 6:5-7)” (Daily Food, Book 1, Wednesday, p. 10).
