- The word is the true tool we need to trust. Everything is accomplished through the word. Therefore, let us not trust in our own abilities when serving God. We need to place our trust only in the word. It has the power to transform our lives. Let us not use human devices; let us use the word to accomplish God’s work (1 Pet 1:23-25; Jas 1:21).
- Lot should not have accumulated private property. He should have been like his uncle Abraham, who left a land of idolatry and went by faith to a place without knowing where he would go. We should be like this in the church, detached from everything earthly and material, and walking by faith (Heb. 11:8; 1 Pet. 2:6-9).
- By listening to the word and being immersed, we are freed from all material attachments. That is why the first brothers and sisters born in the early church in Jerusalem were detached from their material possessions, because they persevered in the teaching of the apostles and had fellowship based on the word. This way of living produced in them the feeling of having everything in common as long as someone had need (Acts 2:42-45).
- When we believed in the Lord Jesus, we were born of the Spirit and became His children (John 1:12). Thank the Lord, today we have the inner anointing, the Spirit that dwells in our spirit! (Daily Food, Book 2, week 3, Wednesday, p. 47).
