- To eat of the tree of life is to receive life through the Word of God. The Word flows as life, as a supply of life, and in the church, it circulates as life. Therefore, it is important to immerse ourselves in it and follow it closely—therein lies the blessing. The Word will transform us and will transform even our children (John 6:63; 2 Tim. 3:10).
- Not being under the bondage of the law does not mean giving freedom to the flesh, because in order to be in grace, it is necessary to go through the cross. The cross is the key to God’s plan; without the cross, God’s plan cannot be realized in man. Thank God for the cross, on which our old man was crucified with Christ (Gal 5:13; Rom 6: 6).
- Our union with Christ’s death and resurrection becomes real when we live in the Spirit. If we do not live in the Spirit, we will not have this reality and will not possess what the Spirit produces. The first fruit the Spirit produces is love. Love is a sure indicator that we are in the sphere of the Spirit (Gal. 2: 19-20; 5:22).
- “The church is not made up of wise, powerful, or noble-born men (1 Cor. 1:26). If that were the case, we might think that God wants to use man’s ability. However, God does not use human power. He can use anyone, as long as they have the right heart. That is why God chose the humble, the despised, and those who are nothing” (vs. 27-29) (Isa. 66: 1-2).
