1. In Ecclesiastes, we read that all is vanity. Human life is marked by toil, and what do men work and sweat to achieve? If we don’t understand that we live to establish God’s kingdom, our lives lose meaning and everything becomes vanity. Therefore, let’s produce for God! The best choice is to serve the Lord and lead our family to serve Him as well. There is nothing better than this (Ecclesiastes 1:1- 2; Joshua 24:15).
2. When we serve the Lord and follow His word closely, we soon realize that He is with us. And when the Lord is with us, as He was with Joseph, everything changes. Everything placed in Joseph’s hands prospered because the Lord was with him. Let’s take a step of faith and engage with the Lord. This will be our salvation (Gen. 39:2, 21; 2 Tim. 3:10-11).
3. Walking with God means listening to His Word, paying attention to what He wants and what is in His heart. It means gaining intimacy with Him, knowing how He thinks, what He loves, what His purpose and will are, understanding what He desires of us today, and what His commanding voice is. Walking with God means having fellowship with Him (Gen. 5:24; 6:9).
4. “This beginning is the beginning of time. This means that before creation, time did not exist. God inhabited eternity. He is not limited by time or space. God is self-existent, eternal, and uncreated. He is from eternity to eternity” (Isaiah 57:15) (Daily Food, book 1, week 1, Wednesday, p. 10).
