1. Abraham was blessed by Melchizedek, priest of the Most High God, and gave Him tithes. He was not attached to Earthly things, for he knew that God is the owner of heaven and Earth. Therefore, what would be the point of clinging to a mere plot of land? We need to have a heart like Abraham’s! In the end, God granted him victory (Genesis 14:18-20).
2. God appointed Christ as High Priest, according to the order of Melchizedek. Jesus died for our sins, offering Himself as a sacrifice to forgive and redeem us for God. With His own blood, He made atonement for our sins, resurrected, and was exalted to heaven. Today, the Holy of Holies is in heaven, and we can access it through our spirit (Hebrews 5:5-6; 10:12-13, 19-22).
3. The Holy of Holies is no longer in an Earthly tabernacle, but in heaven. And, in our spirit, there is a “piece” of heaven. We can have access to heaven through our spirit. Christ in heaven intercedes for us! Our victories in conquering the Earth for the Lord happen because of the intercession of our High Priest (Hebrews 7:25; 8:1-2; 9:11; 10:19).
4. “We need to live as if the Lord were coming back tomorrow. Let us be faithful to the Lord. Let us fight for the kingdom, not to acquire riches. The Lord may make us prosper, but if that happens, it is all for Him. Let us live as those who await the Lord’s return, preaching the gospel of the kingdom throughout the world” (Matt. 24:36, 14; Rev. 20:6) (Daily Bread, book 2, week 3, Wednesday, p. 45).
