DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Wednesday | Msg. 37 – Jacob: The Need for Transformation

1. When we do not value God’s blessing, there is no other result to be reaped, except the curse. Let us consider our choices and value the Lord’s blessing. A common misconception is to think that God’s blessing refers only to material things; in fact, it primarily aims at His will being done on Earth (Genesis 25:34; 27:30, 34, 36, 38).

2. After leaving his parents’ home, Jacob began to experience suffering in life. Why? Because God loved him and wanted to transform him. He also wants to transform us and make us useful in building His house. He loved Jacob and not Esau because Jacob loved what He loved. Let us fight for what is important to God (Genesis 28:10-11; Malachi 1:2-3).

3. Jacob valued what God valued. And you? If you value your birthright and strive for God’s blessing, know that He loves you and wants to transform you. In transformation, there is suffering. To make us useful, God removes the old man; only the new man can build His house (Malachi 1:2-3; 1 Peter 1:6- 7; Ephesians 4:22-24).

4. “Those who are in the tree of life have no resume to show. They are like Enoch, the man who merely ‘walked with God.’ […] Those who are in the tree of life do not produce their own fruit. Our only merit is being connected to the vine. The vine produces fruit; our fruit does not come from our resume, but from the Spirit” (Genesis 5:24, 10:9-11; John 15:5) (Daily Food, book 6, week 1, Wednesday, p. 11).
