- The gospel that Paul preached did not have the view to help people to perfect themselves in the flesh. Paul preached the cross of Christ, the cross that solves the problem of the flesh. The word of the cross is foolishness for the Jews, but it is salvation for us. Let us not preach messages full of the wisdom of the world because this will solve nothing. It is the word of the cross that brings the solution. We are all saved by the foolishness of preaching (Rom 8:3; 1 Cor 1:18-20).
- We were delivered by grace through faith in Christ. Do we really desire to return to slavery? We were freed from the law in order to live in the newness of life. We died and were buried and resurrected with Christ; now, we are in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. This takes place in the sphere of faith; let us not go back to the sphere of slavery. Thank the Lord, through grace we are saved! (Rom 6:4-10; Eph 2:4-6).
- The “other gospel” is to combine the practices of the law of Moses with faith. Faith takes us to the heavenly places, but the practice of the law brings us back to the Earth. They are two things of completely different natures which are opposing, irreconcilable, and incongruent; there is no way to conciliate faith with the law. To return to the practice of the law paralyzes the work of God in the New Testament; it paralyzes the work of the Spirit (Acts 15:1, 5; Eph 2:8).
- Today we are following the line of the Spirit. God desires to obtain people that are born of the Spirit and live in the newness of life. In the Spirit there is always newness; in the law there is oldness, things that are repetitive, idle, and lack joy and the brightness in our eyes. However, the Spirit has freedom, newness, and freshness. The older ones need to learn to walk more in the newness of the Spirit, that is, in the newness of life! (John 3:1-8; Rom 6:4; 7:6).
