- The Lord knows us deeply. Although Paul was previously immersed in Judaism and persecuting the Church, he had already been set apart by God before he was born and was called by His grace! We are here today because the Lord also knew us even before forming us in the womb. We may have followed the wrong paths in the past, but God wrote our names in the Book of Life. Therefore, let us never say that the Lord does not understand us or has abandoned us. He knows every part of us! That is why Paul did not follow the path of Judaism but was designated as a useful vessel in the Lord’s hands, ensuring that the truth of the Gospel was not lost and would reach us (Ps 139:13-16; Eph 1:4-6).
- The Lord has set us apart, chosen us, and called us to be His servants. If we do not serve Him, we are on the wrong path. Even if we say we do not have time, the Lord calls us to serve Him today! When the Lord captures us, He gives us time! Let us gradually begin to follow the Word and use our available time to do immersion. Once we start to “taste” it, we will dedicate more time to the Lord. We were not called to be servants of the world, but of the Lord (Eph 1:4; Isa 49:1-5).
- Abraham was justified by faith: when he believed in God, it was counted to him as righteousness. The Law was given 430 years later so that the people of Israel would have a tutor until Christ came. With the coming of Christ, the people were supposed to move from the rule of the Law and submit to the government of Christ. But due to the hardness of their hearts, they persecuted and killed the Son of God. With the coming of Christ, we are no longer under the Law. Let us not rely on our own ability, trying to perfect ourselves in the flesh; rather, let us follow the Spirit of life (Rom 4:3; Gal 3:23, 26; 1 Cor 15:45).
- We are the church that calls on the name of the Lord, the church in Philadelphia, which keeps His Word and does not deny His name. The only way to salvation is to believe with the heart and confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord! We are not lords of ourselves—Jesus is the Lord of our lives and is rich towards all who call on Him (Rom 10:5-13; Rev 3:8).
