1. “Pison” in Hebrew means “flowing freely.” This is the river of the water of grace, flowing and reaching people. Man sinned and had no way out; he had to shed his blood. But, thank God, He prepared the river of the water of grace through Christ, who accomplished the work of redemption. There is no longer any need to pay; Christ paid the price for us (Heb. 9:22; Isa. 55:1).
2. The flowing Pison River produces materials for building the church. Gold represents the nature of the Father. Bdellium, a resin produced by plants, represents the work of Christ. And the onyx stone, like all precious stones, symbolizes the transforming work of the Holy Spirit (Gen. 2:11-12; 1 Cor. 3:12-13).
3. This river will save the world and bring the throne of Christ. The Lord needs channels to carry His flow throughout the Earth; He needs you. You, teenagers (troops), youth (captains), or those of advanced maturity (senior stewards), are these channels. The Lord is working so that this river will bring joy wherever it goes, bring life, and bear fruit for God (Gen. 2:10; Ps. 46:4; Ezek. 47:8-9).
4. Let us be firm! We cannot give in to pressure from religious leaders who want to make us retreat. We are in the dispensation of the Spirit. The focus of our preaching is the cross of Christ. Let us not trust in the flesh, but only in the power and wisdom of the Spirit. These values of ours are non-negotiable! Jesus is our Lord! (Gal. 6:12-14) (Daily Food, book 4, week 4, Sunday, p. 72).
