DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Saturday | Msg. 17 – Noah’s Ark

1. The terrible example of the fallen angels in Noah’s generation was followed by the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah. However, marriage was established by God and is holy. Everyone must defend the purity of marriage and not allow any breach that could contaminate it. Relationships between people of the opposite sex must always be marked by purity and prudent distance, so as not to give rise to the flesh. We are advancing with the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom, and the enemy, furious, seeks to stain us. Therefore, we must treat this matter with the utmost seriousness. Let us not ruin our future of service to the Lord through carelessness (Jude 1:6-7; Eph 2:2; 6:12; Rom 1:27; Gen 2:24; Heb 13:4).

2. Noah walked with God. We walk with someone to know their heart; so too, those who walk with God listen attentively to His voice. Noah heard God’s word, believed it, and therefore had the faith to build the ark. It is by walking with God that we learn to know what the Lord wants. Through faith in His word, we live like Noah: righteous before God. He was a preacher of righteousness. Though mocked and ridiculed, he preached righteousness to that sinful generation, so that they would repent of their wickedness and violence and return to God before His righteous judgment came (Gen. 6:14; Heb. 11:7; Rom. 10:17; 2 Pet. 2:4-5).

3. Cypress is a resinous wood, resistant to water and weather. It represents the crucified Christ, victorious over the attacks of death. It is because of Him that we are saved and do not perish in the “waters of the flood.” The cypress boards of the ark were to be coated with pitch, representing the redeeming blood of Christ, covering them inside and out. The inner covering guaranteed peace for Noah and his family; so too, the blood of the Lamb gives us peace with God. The outer covering satisfied God, covering His family from judgment. Just as Israel was preserved from God’s judgment on Passover by the blood on the doorposts, we too are saved from God’s wrath by the blood of Christ (Acts 2:24; Genesis 6:14; Leviticus 4:5-7; Hebrews 9:13, 21; Exodus 12:13; Romans 5:9).

4. The ark had only one opening, through which light from heaven came. This shows us that the church today is guided by heavenly vision, not by philosophies or human knowledge. Paul did not preach from himself, but from revelation received from above. The window was also the opening to the air—the Spirit who, like the breath of life, has the freedom to work miracles, signs, and wonders. Noah believed God’s word, and it saved him and his family. If we also believe the word with simplicity and purity, and obey it, the Lord will bless us, and we and our families will be saved (Gen. 6:15-16; Acts 2:42; Gal. 1:11-12; 1 Cor. 4:17; Eph. 3:2; Acts 2:43; 5:12).
