DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Thursday | Msg. 44 – The Death of Rachel and The Birth of Benjamin

1. Paul had a brilliant career in Judaism, and that was his natural choice. But one day, Christ appeared in his life. Like Paul, we also need to have a heavenly vision. We need to live the church life governed by this vision, making it the focus of our life. Whatever happens, it must always govern us (Acts 9:1-5; 26:13-19).

2. It is only by this vision that we are willing to suffer losses—the vision that God wants to make Christ as Head over all things, having the church as the means for Him to exercise this authority and for the church to be built up. Do you have this vision? Does it govern you? Do you consider your natural choices and preferences as rubbish, to gain Christ? (Ephesians 1:9-10, 21-23; Philippians 3:7-9).

3. Christ is the Word who became flesh. From birth until the end of His earthly life, He lived in sufferings. However, after death, resurrection, and ascension, Christ was exalted and sat at the right hand of God, in the heavenly places, above all authority, power, dominion, and name (Isaiah 53:3; Ephesians 1:20-21).

4. “Abraham’s heart was not in earthly riches. Like him, we also do not set our heart on the things of this earth. Like Abraham, we also live as strangers and pilgrims, because our homeland is not here; our kingdom is the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, let us not cling to material things, but let us fight for the kingdom of heaven” (Philippians 3:20; Hebrews 11:13-16) (Daily Food, book 6, week 3, Thursday, p. 50).
