1. After he died and rose again, Jesus became the Spirit. This Spirit is like rivers of living water flowing through all who receive Him and believe in His words (John 7:37-39).
2. The more we believe in the words of the Lord Jesus, the more they will flow from us like rivers of living water. Otherwise, we will block the flow of the river and, consequently, block the work of the Lord (John 7:38).
3. We cannot take the Lord’s words as mere doctrinal teaching. To do so is like drinking from a stagnant puddle. God desires that His words continue to flow from us like rivers of living water (Psalm 42:1-2).
4. “Do not anchor your soul in money, riches, or philosophy, for none of these things are trustworthy. Only the Holy of Holies, where our High Priest is, is a safe harbor for the refuge of our soul. Through the word let us take refuge there” (Hebrews 6:18-20) (Daily Food, book 7, week 1, Tuesday, p. 10).
