DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Wednesday | Msg. 56 – Jacob blesses Pharaoh

1. Jacob was invited by Joseph to go down to Egypt. Even though he had no other option to survive, he still consulted the Lord to decide whether or not to go there. We should always have the same attitude (Genesis 45:9; 46:1).

2. The Lord answered Jacob that he should go down to Egypt with his whole family, for His purpose was to bless him, making him a great nation. Through this change, they would multiply and become a strong people, living in the best land of Egypt (Genesis 46:2-4).

3. The providence of God’s mighty hand led Jacob and his family to live in the land of Goshen, the best portion of land in Egypt. While other peoples had to sell everything they owned to avoid starvation, the people of Israel grew and became strong because they lived in the best land. When we fight for the Lord’s interests, He provides the best so that we may multiply spiritually (Genesis 47:4-6a).

4. “[…] if we have a right heart, that loves God above all and desires only to serve Him by being a channel to do His will, we will have the Lord’s blessing throughout our lives. We will go through challenges and difficulties because we need to be transformed, but God will guide us. In moments when we see no way out and when it seems like the end, God will provide deliverance, because we are blessed by the Lord” (Genesis 1:28; Psalm 119:50) (Daily Food, book 9, week 3, Wednesday, pp. 44-45).
