1. Joshua and Caleb believed in the word of the Lord and took possession of the good land. The Lord found a generation that believes in His word and does not look at the difficulties. We need to believe and obey, putting into practice every word of the Lord (Numbers 14:6-9; Hebrews 3:17-19).
2. The work of God needs to be completed, for we must take possession of the Earth. There remains a rest for God’s people, the kingdom of Christ. We must rise up like the firstborn who received the blessing of fruitfulness and take this Earth for the Lord. Let us be strong and courageous to enter the good land (Hebrews 4:9-11).
3. We cannot fight through human skills. When we do this, even with great effort, we have no result. The fight belongs to the Lord, therefore let us fight in God’s rest. Obeying the word, we work in rest, and everything flows spontaneously. The word works effectively in us, in those who believe. This is truly working in God’s rest (Hebrews 4:1-11, 1 Thessalonians 2:13).
4. “Everything that happens to us is according to God’s will. If our whole life is dedicated to serving the Lord and doing His will, we can be sure that we will be blessed throughout our lives” (Romans 9:1822) (Daily Food, book 9, week 4, Saturday, p. 69).
