- The first church arose in a powerful way because of the fulfillment of the promise of the Spirit of power from on high. And through the preaching of these first disciples, the church in Jerusalem multiplied with energy (Acts 1:8).
- Acts 2:42 shows that the teaching of the apostles is the source of the energy that makes the church carry out the work of God (Acts 2:42-47).
- The apostles’ teaching is direction given through revelation that comes directly from God. This revelation is the word of command that brings energy to the church (Eph. 2:20-22).
- In the very first chapter of the First Epistle of Peter, it is written: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Pet. 1:3) (Daily Food, week 2, Monday, p. 22).
