- The Lord Jesus started the church through 120 uneducated and illiterate Galileans. The power of the Spirit worked fervently through the word spoken with power by the apostles. The teaching of the apostles became the driving force for God to begin His work in Jerusalem (Acts 1:15; 42-47).
- Signs, wonders, and miracles were performed through the apostles. None of the apostles were the source of these wonders, but rather the Holy Spirit working through them (Acts 2:1-4, 43; 4:23-31, 32-35).
- What moves the church is the word that brings the Spirit through the hearing of faith. The Lord Jesus Himself gives the Spirit, who then works miracles through those who allow themselves to be used by Him (Gal 3:2; 1 Cor 12:4-11).
- “The church is not a religious institution, but a living organism, as the Lord Himself described: The Father is the vinedresser, the Son is the vine, and we are the branches (John 15:1-5). Therefore, it is with this life connection that God establishes His kingdom on earth through the church” (Daily Food, Book 4, Week 4, Monday, p. 55).
