- To carry out His work here on Earth, God will use the church, which is His body, as His platform. To do this, He needs this church to be completely “filled” with Himself. How can you and I be filled with Christ? By setting our minds on the Spirit, by being immersed, renewing our minds, and being filled with the Spirit (Eph 1:22-23; Rom 12:2; Eph 5:26).
- Some people say, “When I have more time, I will serve God — maybe when I retire.” This shows that they only see God’s work from the outward aspect. But God wants to work in us inwardly. Will you not allow God to work in you during this time? The main result of God’s work is our hearts (Eph 4:22-24).
- Without the cross of Christ, there is no work of the Holy Spirit, no word of the apostles, and no miracles or signs performed by the Spirit through the church. There is no life of the new man, no life of the Spirit, no newness of life or of the Spirit. The cross is essential (Acts 5:12; Rom 6:4; 7:6).
- Doing God’s work based on our “resume,” biblical knowledge, and our own will is the illusion of all religions. Man will never be able to please God on his own. Let us remain as simple as children, allowing ourselves to be led by the breath of the Spirit (Rom 7:18; Luke 18:17; John 3:8) (Daily Food, Book 2, Week 1, Wednesday, pp. 11-12).
