DAILY IMMERSION IN THE PROPHETIC WORD Monday | Msg. 20 – The Prophetic Word and False Teachers

1. The church in Jerusalem had a wonderful beginning and served as a model for all of us. Because they were obedient to the Spirit, the brothers and sisters persevered in fellowship together, following the word of the apostles. Therefore, as they received and practiced this word by faith, the Holy Spirit worked miracles, signs and wonders through the hands of the apostles. Thus, the church grew and multiplied; fear came into their hearts, and the hearts and souls of all were one (Acts 2:42-44).

2. In the first church, we do not see any dispute over positions, roles or leadership. Everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit, obeyed the truth and, with simplicity, each one exercised his function as a member of the Body of Christ. In this way, the brothers and sisters became detached from material goods and lived a life of the heavenly church, in resurrection; it was as if they were not on earth, but in the heavenly realms. Therefore, the Spirit had freedom to act through them (Acts 2:45-47; Rom 12:4-5; Eph 2:6).

3. We need to get back to simplicity! When the disciples wanted to know who was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, our Lord Jesus called a little child and placed him in their midst. And He told them that unless they were converted and became like little children, they would not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven. Let us be simple in the Spirit, and we will inherit the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 18:1-4).

4. “God has great hope in man. Today, in the condition of the church in Philadelphia, the Lord has restored His government through His word, for it is through it that He accomplishes all things” (Revelation 3:7-13) (Daily Food, book 2, week 2, Monday, p. 22).
